Eddison moved to Britain at the age of 49 from Dominica in the West Indies to join his family in 2007. A qualified carpenter and joiner, he soon found work at a furniture company but the recession hit and Eddison fell prey to being ‘last in and first out’. After searching for work for over a year and he was put in touch with BeOnsite.

Working with us as a formworker since 2009, Eddison has now also completed an NVQ Level 2 in formwork and structural concrete. He says of his experience:

“Since I was a kid I have always had a feel for woodwork and I have worked in this area in one way or another for most of my life. I found it really hard to find work when I lost my job when the recession hit but BeOnsite has given me the opportunity to build upon my existing knowledge and the incentive to continue to learn and grow. I now have new hope for the future.”
